TROUT FISHING TRIPS - FLY FISHERMAN'S DREAM
Trout fishing trips are an awesome experience that are full of excitement and continual thrills. The finest fly fishing gear and tackle will be used on this trip and you will be fishing for trophy Rainbow Trout. The trout season starts in the beginning of August and continues on throughout October. The trips are full day trips lasting about nine hours.
These trips are done between Skilak Lake and the Moose River, in what is considered the Middle Kenai. A large number of Salmon use this section of the river for their spawning beds. Trout and Dolly Varden feed on these eggs. This makes it an ideal fishery. This is one of the most sought after trips on the Kenai Peninsula and with quality number of trophy Rainbows; you won't be disappointed.
KENAI RIVER TRIPS
The Kenai River trips are divided into half day and full day trips. The half day trip starts at 6:00 a.m. and is six hours in length. A full day trips lasts up to nine hours. Both of these trips take place on the lower Kenai River in tidal influenced waters.
Fishing the lower Kenai allows you to target much more aggressive fish which have just entered the river. Kings entering the river average 30 to 40 lbs., with fish over 80 lbs. caught every year. August and September produce some of the best Silver Fishing on the Peninsula. These are great action fish and tend to run and jump when caught giving the fisherman a lot of action each time one is hooked.
Everyday there are two tides bringing these fresh fish in from the ocean. By booking a FULL DAY trip, you are sure to be fishing an entire tide of fish. This gives the angler a greater chance to catch a large fish. Most of the fishing will be done in 5 to 10 feet of water with eggs or plugs. You will be fishing out of a 20 ft. boat. All tackle will be provided.
